Located just a little walk from shibuya station. Whoopi Goldburger is a cute little burger shack tucked into the heart of Tokyo. It’s menus has burgers all named after Hollywood Celebrities. But the menu itself was a bit shabby I felt. The staff were young, cool and friendly and worked hard to make sure we had a good experience. The outside seating doesn’t have a very nice view but it was refreshing in the summer heat, rather than to be stuck inside a building with Japan and their air conditioners being cracked up to freezing temperatures.Overall this is a really good place for dinners or lunches. In Tokyo, even in shibuya, there are a lot more burger joints that are similar in price and REALLY good, for example JS burger. But if you have been there already, this is a good second choice.
Visited here 3 years ago and had to come back to enjoy their burgers. Great ale. Reccomend the kevin bacon.Love that they have these pocket sleeves which hold your burger so you dont drip burger juice all over your hands and clothes.
Cool place...nice vibe...great burgers
The basic burger has a very fair price, and the fries - although they look quite pale - were fresh and crispy. The patty was nicely spiced with black pepper. It seems the meat was ground pretty coarsely, as the patty had chunks inside, but I am not sure which cut they used as the chunks were rather chewy. Also, the patty was quite thin despite this not being a smash burger, and not juicy at all. The veggies, however, were fresh and crisp.Overall not a bad burger, but not satisfying enough to make me come back either.
Big burger with a coarse and juicy beef!
Not as good as I thought it would be. The bread didn't taste that fresh and the ratio of bread to toppings was off.
Great burger. Personally, it’s on top 5 Tokyo burger list. 1 star missing because I only tried once yet, and it kinda takes some time for burger to come out.
Good burgers but if you go for dinner you are forced to order a beverage, so you’ll end up paying about 2000 yen. Otherwise great burgers
One of the best burgers in Tokyo hands down. Menu is creative and has a lot of great variety. Lunch specials are on point, definitely recommend a visit.
It's a little cozy restaurant with amazing and huge hamburgers. If you have time pass by it and you'll see what I mean. Sometimes you need to wait a bit but trust me that it's worth it. They also have sapporo draft beer so, if you are a beer lover, that's it 😊
Liked the smokiness but unfortunately the burger patty as well as the fries were just loaded with too much salt. Maybe cut half the salt and it could be really tasty.
Love it, my second trip from my first in 2012. Pricy but fresh!
One of the best burgers I've ever had! Cool little spot down a Tokyo side street, loved it.
Very good food and good place. I recommend it
Had a Kevin Bacon and a Whoopi BBQ and thry were both perfect. Will definitly go back.Note: the entrance is hard to find, look for a black board.
If you're in Tokyo and looking for a solid greasy and tasty hamburger 🍔 that reminds of home I'd recommend Whoopi Goldburger in Shibuya. The Mashed Taters are also worth a try. 🤠
Very good burgers and a grungy punk atmosphere. They offer fries OR mashed potato with your burger but the mash was nothing special. At dinner time you must order 1 drink (alcohol or non-alcoholic). There aren't many seats so you may have to wait and they are smoker friendly (which is the only downside for me)
Love it! Juicy burger. Nice atmosphere! Local feel :)
this burger was disappointing. flavorless patty, huge bun, and mostly lettuce. best part was fries. don't believe the hype
Good burgers named after famous actors. Opens from 12PM. Small selection of drinks and beers also. Grunge bar kind of vibe. Staff were friendly. Limited indoor seating and a few seats outside. About 5-10 minutes walk from Shibuya station.
Fantastic quality of ingredients and the overall taste of everything on my burger was unmatched, or at least equal to, literally any of the best burgers I've had in the US. Except for the actual patty, which was for some reason heavily smashed almost as if to deliberately squeeze out all of the meat juices and fat, and tasted like it had previously been frozen. It was about on par with an average fast food patty, if anything, which was a disappointment considering how wonderful the rest of the burger was. Also, this is one of those places that requires you to order drinks with your meal, so factor that into your visit.
The patty was pretty protein-ful and low fat.
Awesome place and very friendly staff. The bacon is not your normal bacon! Would highly recommend
Super coarse grind, almost a chopped steak sandwich. Could have used more smoke, but the chew and juiciness are mind-blowing. This triple-patty gutbomb (the "Charlotte GainsBurger") might seem much, but every bite is bliss. Decor is on the Bohemian side, but does not detract from the passion evident in their food.
At night you have to order one drink. Food is great but a bit away from awesome.Despite of that, a nice place worth visiting.
Best burgers in Tokyo and some amazing service and atmosphere. Love this place!!
One of the best burger in Tokyo
Small and great with BIG BURGERS!
Bad service. The stuff don't look happy to working there. No smiles. And the burger wasn't good as I expected. Maybe it could be better if it was at least warm. My burger was cold and my drink(ginger ale) was warm. I asked for a glass with ice for the drink but they didn't give me for some reason. So sad for the poor service. I know many better burger shops than this one in Tokyo. So disappointed.
Burgers- GOOODFries- pre-made but PLENTYPrice- REASONABLEStaff- MILDLY ENTERTAININGSeats- ENOUGH IF THE OBESE AREN’T BEACHED IN (seriously, limited seating)Had great times here.
This place is just burgers. But darn good burgers. Plus each are based off a pun! Great hole in the wall feeling, but putting out quality food and service. Can't wait to go back and work through the rest of the menu. Picture below is home made Mac and cheese on a burger. Fantastic!!
It’s a place with a solid burger for the price but if you’re going with more than one friend you might want to reconsider. It’s super small inside , so small in fact it’s a little hard to spot and even hard to tell it’s a business at all.
Loved this restaurant. Found it online, and was not disappointed. Has a great atmosphere as a small little restaurant. Maybe 10 seats inside and a few more outside. Really feels like an American hamburger place should. You can see your food being cooked, and talk to the chef. There's only two employees on duty, and even that's almost too much. For those looking, they shorten their name to W.P.G.B. on the sign outside. Plus, there's two restaurants in the alley next to each other. These guys are on the left. Plus, love the menu. All the burgers are puns on celebrity names. I ate the Kevin Bacon.
The staff is good. Burger looks good but meat is the problem. Meat patty had gristle s in it. And not one many. So you can not chew it literally. Patty is also thin and dry.
There is only a small counter inside but it’s good for cozy and casual atmosphere! Taste is good too!
It's really good and calm place!
Very good hamburger. Good portion and tastes yummy. I chose mushed potatoes on the side. The seats are limited so you might have to wait in busy time.
Of the 20+ burger joints I've checked out in Tokyo, this was probably my favourite. Also the best value one I've had and the fries portion was very reasonable. Will visit again.
Amazing vibe, amazing burgers! Five stars for the skate videos
Ordered Charlotte Gains Burger ¥1590The most expensive menu. You can also tell the chef that you can make the burger “Rare”. If you want to make it happen, tell that to the chef of the staff. HahaThe place is small.Good enough for just a small hop and eat those burgers.Go here on an empty stomach.Pure beef . For me.Or go and be the judge. !
Great burger, cool place, quirky names, chips (French fries) also pretty good with a good selection of import beers.
A nice and cosy little burger shop that serves picturesque dishes in a miniscule space, making you feel like you're part of a small community. While the burgers weren't the best I've had, they were definitely good enough to make me feel like I would have missed out if I didn't stop by the store for this unique experience.
Probably the best burger shop in shibuya. It's a little out of the way but usually crowded. If you can get a seat I recommend grabbing a bite!
It wasn't that bad. The mashed potatoes needed a bit more salt. The burger was cooked well.
Definitely a burger dive if there ever was one. Small shop nestled away in Shibuya, but worth checking out. Multiple burger and drink options, so should suit any taste. The burger itself was ok, but the toppings (especially the bacon and jalapeño) make the burger. Plus the dudes running the place are just cool. Worth a stop.
After about an hour wait, we we're able to squeeze three of us into a table for two outside. Despite the sickly looking cats hanging around, and the wait, our burgers were great. Not better than a couple of other shops in Tokyo, but delicious. The service was fine. Appearances aside, good burgers. Also, a great import beer selection.
Very nice place with an awsome "'90' trasher skater" feeling. And that name.... ^_^
Disappointing. The hamburger was filled with gristle that was hard to chew, and the coarse salt didn’t stick to the french fries. And although I was already planning to have a drink, being told that I had to order one was strange.
Like many of you I was fooled by the decor, the atmosphere and the overall good reviews online. The fact is, this is a bad burger. We had the cheeseburger and double cheeseburger both were bad. The bun doesn't hold the burger together, and there's dissporportient amount of lettuce. But worst of all the patty is hard and chewy and missing basic meat and fire flavors. Truly disspointing.
Cool vibe, great burgers. Not cheap but worth it.
